Pressburst Privacy Policy

    We take our privacy obligations very seriously. The purpose of this document is to outline the type of information Pressburst holds and how we use any information provided to us.

    Pressburst is an online software application owned and operated by Pressburst Ltd, a company incorporated and registered in England and Wales with company number 05867814 and whose principal place of business is at 80 Eton Close, Witney, OX28 3GB.

    By using Pressburst, you agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy which forms part of our Terms and Conditions; capitalised terms used in this Privacy Policy are defined in clause 16 of our Terms and Conditions.

  1. YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
    In order to provide the Pressburst service, Pressburst requires your name, email address and basic contact details. We collect this when you register for the service, or if you contact us for technical support, or if a colleague adds you as a secondary user to the service. We require this information in order to provide you with access to the Pressburst system, to provide technical support, and to manage your account.

  2. INFORMATION FROM OTHERS
    You are able to invite other people to use the Pressburst service. By doing so, you warrant that that you have their permission and that Pressburst may use any information you provide on their behalf in order to provide them with the Pressburst service, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions and this Privacy Policy.
     
    As part of your usage of Pressburst, you are able to upload news, jobs and events information which may contain personal details, including names and photographs of other individuals. As outlined in our Terms and Conditions, it is your responsibility to ensure that you are legally permitted under data protection law to upload any personal data to Pressburst (including data relating to children) and have sought all necessary licences, consents and permissions, in accordance with the Pressburst Terms and Conditions and this Privacy Policy.
     
    When you upload information to Pressburst, you do so as an Authorised User on behalf of the Customer (who is normally your employer organisation). Data you upload, such as news stories, job vacancies, events, press releases and press contacts, can be viewed, edited and deleted by other Authorised Users in your organisation. As outlined in 6.1 of the Terms and Conditions, the Customer shall be responsible for any Authorised User's acts or omissions in connection with the Services.

  3. WHAT WE COLLECT
    When you use Pressburst to upload or manage content, we collect standard internet log information (including the type of web browser being used to access Pressburst and the operating system) along with geo-location, as we – through our subprocessors – collect and process the IP address of all devices which use our services. We do this in order to be able to provide technical support and to perform analysis on the use of Pressburst in order to compile aggregated statistics. Some aspects of your use of Pressburst will be linked to your login ID which enable us to provide support and identify errors with the system. We also do this in order to identify Authorised Users whom we may contact to recommend further use of – or ways to improve use of – the Pressburst service.
     
    When you publish content from Pressburst we also collect data on how often it is viewed on Pressburst and/or our Channel Partner websites and/or via our widgets, portals and API. This data collection enables us to monitor usage patterns, improve the service and provide technical support.

  4. OUR USE OF COOKIES
    In order to collect log information and enable all the features of Pressburst to function correctly, we need to store cookies on your browser. You can change your browser settings to block cookies if you wish, but some aspects of the Pressburst service may not function correctly.   5. HOW WE PROCESS YOUR DATA
    The Pressburst service is hosted using Amazon Web Services (AWS) who provide one of the leading server platforms in the world. Information uploaded to Pressburst resides on servers in AWS' London data region and administrative access to these servers is limited to Pressburst. Our data processing providers, including AWS, are not permitted to access your personal information, except for the limited purpose of providing the Pressburst service, as outlined in our Terms and Conditions.

  7. HOW WE PROTECT YOUR DATA
    We strive to provide a secure environment for your data. We have put in place a combination of security protocols and procedures to safeguard the information stored in Pressburst. All servers which host the Pressburst service use SSL certificates to encrypt the flow of traffic between the server and your web browser. We encourage you to use unique secure passwords to access the Pressburst service and ensure these are not shared with any third-party. Notwithstanding this, we cannot guarantee that personal information uploaded to Pressburst will be secure due to the nature of the Internet. If we become aware of any unauthorised access or disclosure of data from the Pressburst service, we will advise you as soon as possible.

  8. HOW WE CONTACT YOU
    In order to keep you informed of changes to the Pressburst service, we may wish to send you occasional emails. You can opt-out of any email communications by using the link at the bottom of any message.

  9. DATA RETENTION
    On termination of your Pressburst subscription, your data continues to be stored should you decide to use the service in the future. You may request that Pressburst deletes all your data at any time. Please note however that any Published Content may continue to be retained by Pressburst, its Affiliates and Channel Partners and the Associated Persons, in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

    Pressburst may need to amend or update this Privacy Policy at any time to reflect changes to the law, how we process your data, or the overall Pressburst system.
